Metal analysis - the gentle way
With the aid of a photothermal measuring device developed at the ILM, it is possible to examine the near-surface areas of metal objects in a non-contact and non-destructive way.
For example, it is possible to measure layer thicknesses, hardness progression, nitriding or the porosity of workpieces. In addition, properties such as grinding burn, adhesion defects or crack formation can be detected with extreme sensitivity.
