Extension of the Executive Board of Hahn-Schickard Stuttgart
Since May 2022, Prof. André Zimmermann and Dr. Karl-Peter Fritz have jointly taken over the directorship of the Hahn-Schickard Institute for Microassembly Technology. On May 10, 2022, Hahn-Schickard's supervisory and executive boards confirmed the election of Dr. Karl-Peter Fritz as the second institute director at the Stuttgart site. Dr. Fritz earned his doctorate in 2012 from the University of Stuttgart on miniaturized valve implants and most recently held the position of division manager for components + systems at Hahn-Schickard.
Hahn-Schickard is pursuing two goals with the expansion of the institute's management:
The first is the product-oriented development as well as manufacturing of components and systems using the technology portfolio of micro assembly technology. This is associated with the expansion of the manufacturing business field from batch size 1.
And secondly, the development and production of individualized microsystems based on digital process chains. The focus here is on developing use cases for the field of rapid manufacturing using additive manufacturing processes.
Dr. Karl-Peter Fritz is looking forward to continued excellent cooperation with customers and employees. His goal for the new position: "In the new function, I would like to specifically transfer our broad technological expertise into product developments for industry."
The previous head of the institute, Prof. André Zimmermann, is also looking forward to the collaboration and expects positive developments from it: "The expansion of the institute's management is an important course setting to be able to serve the interests of our customers even better in the future."
